This pattern was used in the U S Civil W ar by both the north and south.
The British Brown Bess land pattern ca. 1750-1810 bayonet was used by the British Army for the Brown Bess Musket and used in multiple wars including the War of 1812. The British continued using this style until 1838. It’s stamped Crown 6 six being the inspectors mark, Osborn spelled in correct scrip for the period and crossed swords for the bend test. This bayonet is in excellent condition with a very nice patina over the still rust free blade. The blade is 17 inches long the socket 4 inches long , 21 3/4 overall. Estimated value $ 550
